Breakfast is the most important meal of the day but, in many households, mornings are so hectic that we may struggle with finding time to prepare a healthy breakfast. These overnight oats are the perfect make-ahead breakfast or pre-workout snack because they’re quick and easy to prepare, are high in protein and contain both fast and slow-digesting carbs, the ideal combination to fuel your workouts or a busy day ahead!
Both recipes are made with kefir, a powerful probiotic that looks and tastes like yogurt. Kefir is rich in protein, calcium, vitamin B12, magnesium, enzymes, and is known to have many health benefits like restoring the balance of friendly bacteria in the gut, improving bone health and protecting against infections.
These recipes can be used as the basis for any overnight oats creation, just experiment with different toppings! You can add fresh or dried fruits, granola, coconut flakes, cinnamon, cocoa nibs, roasted seeds and nuts, goji berries, bee pollen, nut butters, chocolate spreads or fruit jams.
